MARMALADE... and website.

Well it's been a long summer working in a restaurant back at home and am now just getting back into some design work... I've been asked to do some illustrations and designs for a Ski school company called Ski Marmalade who are based out in Meribel in France. I'm quite excited and have some preliminary designs based around breakfast items (jars, plates, milk cartons) riding skis with ski poles made from spoons and knives. Here's hoping to get them finished and sent off in the next few days. Also will be building a website soon to use instead of this blog... so will have a link up for that sometime soon.

Its almost as if computers can smell me coming and decide not to work... after a nightmare in the first term with my personal computer dying the day before the deadline i now have to contest with the computer i am using at university crashing on me this evening, after all the tutors had gone home and no one in the stop motion studios could help... IDEAL. deadline on friday and i am now freaking out that my work has been lost for a second time this year...
oh well on a lighter note - the animation for Tim Minchin's poem "Storm" has been completed and its amazing - here's a link to it on youtube - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HhGuXCuDb1U

be warned - it contains many naughty words.

email and posters...

Just finalising the design for my posters for the film...
This is nearly the finished product I guess.

Also I realised today that I hope my tutors don't think I'm ignoring them as I haven't been able to access my uni email for about a month. ARGH!

a short animation by Chris Harmon... worth watching just for the last statistic. I'm liking animations with a message right now.

skill set

Quite obviously, whilst trying to complete this project, there is also the daunting prospect lingering in the back of my brain about life after university... Have come across this helpful website and have started sending out emails to relevant personnel about job placements and/or work experience...
fingers crossed...

BACK ONLINE...

Quick update on progress with film...
drawing drawing drawing... I had a few weeks where I really struggled with this project but I have just had to realise I have to keep moving with it and let it do its own thing. Trying to push it in one direction when it is quite obviously taking a different one wasn't working, and I am now understanding that it is not going to be the film I had initially planned it to be, which, I think is a good thing... honestly...

ANIMATIC....urgh.

Ok so as that upload of my animatic didn't seem to work AGAIN I have put it onto Youtube... here is the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QB2mTKqfJOI.

ok and now i have just reviewed it and there doesn't seem to be any sound on this version..........lets see if I can fix that now. This animation malarky just seems to be one technical issue after another. its a lot of problem solving for someone like me who is used to a piece of paper and a pencil.

ANIMATIC....urgh.

This is the 2nd version of my animatic... still not ideal. but it'll do for now.
